I finished Day 1 of training for Girls on the Run 5K. I am truly proud of myself because I don’t really like running. A friend of mines has been encouraging me to run so I decided I might as well step outside my comfort zone. Today sort of reminded me of 5th grade when I LOVED running – they nicknamed me Forest because I ran SO FAST. I don’t know why I stopped running – it could’ve been a combo of disliking the mile in gym class or the hot and sweaty days that I suffered through during summer cheerleading camps.
Andy Mineo and Rhema Soul kept me pumped and hype LOL. Check out their music – great, liberating, and encouraging music.
It just felt good to run without an agenda – just wanting to work on my health and looking at short time goals. Taking baby steps. I am registering to be a Solemate this week so look out for information on becoming a donor (I have to raise $100). Help me educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living (totally the mission statement LOL).
Small feat but a HUGE feat for me nonetheless.
ps. I LOVE my new theme. Reminds me of a picture that encouraged me when I was going through one of my toughest times – Hope floats. I thank God for hope
